The Brownie Camera

The Brownie Camera was invented by Eastman Kodak and was made in February, 1900. The Brownie introduced the concept of the snapshot. You could get the camera for only $1 and had the slogan "You push the button, we do the rest." This was the first camera that everyone could buy.

Nicéphore Niépce

Nicéphore Niépce from France was the first known photographer in the world. His earliest surviving photo was taken with a camera obscura 1826.

 "Due to the 8 hour exposure, sunlight illuminates the buildings on both sides."
